Pacific Coast Funds
The Pacific Coast Obstetrical and Gynecological
Society has established these donor - advised funds within
the CMA Foundation:
- Frank Lynch Memorial Fund. Dr. Frank Lynch, Professor
of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California
in San Francisco, was the first President and presided at
the first annual meeting of the society in 1932. At the
time of his death in 1945, Dr. Thompson created a fund to
support an annual essay in memory of Dr. Lynch. The use
of the funds was broadened to include "Education, training
and research in the Obstetrics and Gynecology" in 1973.
- Theodore W. Adams Scholarship Fund. Dr. Theodore
W. Adams was a long time member of the Society. The PCOGS
had been one of his important interests and his participation
in the affairs of the society was active, including serving
as president in 1953. Upon the death of his widow in 1976,
a scholarship fund was established. The fund provides graduate
scholarships and fellowships in the field of Obstetrics
and Gynecology.
- Charles Kimball Memorial Fund. This fund was established
in 1997 for the purpose of making an annual award.
